Phase one of the SLS Centre Fieldhouse Upgrade has been successfully completed!

This phase features a newly enhanced flooring surface, multiple motorized divider curtains, and 8-foot-high tempered glass boards designed to enhance the viewing experience. A few minor finishing touches will be carried out over the next two weeks to finalize the project.

This new flooring surface is specifically designed to reduce the risk of injury, increase traction, and is suitable for a variety of sports. This floor will continue to accommodate sports traditionally played on the turf – soccer, lacrosse, and baseball – as well as optimize opportunities for futsal, volleyball, badminton, pickleball, and basketball. Further, we have replaced the old rink board system with an 8-foot-high tempered glass board system on the south wall, maximizing the spectator viewing experience.

We're so excited to be able to provide even more sport options this fall!

This encompasses site grading to ensure proper ground preparation, the construction of sturdy foundations for play courts, and the establishment of an additional pathway connecting Riverfront Park to SLS Centre, enhancing accessibility between the two locations. Additionally, the installation of electrical service and lighting infrastructure is part of the plan to provide essential amenities for the facility.
